Q: Ok, I've purchased Konkreet Performer, what now? How do I start making music?
A: Start with our
Getting Started Guide for step by step instructions
Q: Where is the Preferences screen?
A: In the main performance screen, double-tap the upper right button
Q: When I try to load up your OSCulator presets I get an error.
A: Some users reported that OSCulator "check for update" won't tell you you're not using the latest version. Make sure OSCulator is up to date (ver. 2.10 or higher).
Q: You mention OSC to MIDI support for Mac, what about Windows PCs?
A: There are a couple of free options available. Here's a guide to using LoopMIDI + Alkama's Max patch:
link. Another option is using MidiYoke + Pure Data
link.
Q: I have set up mycomputername.local. as you said, but still, no connection.
A: Make sure your computer name contains no spaces. Sometimes the iPad's auto-correction feature will sneakily insert a space between words, so worth double-checking!
Q: Konkreet Performer will no longer start up.
A: There was a small bug in Performer version 1.0.2 that would cause this if the port number was set to zero or a negative number. This has been fixed in version 1.0.6 - please update your Performer installation.
Q: The free Reaktor Player switches to full-version mode as soon as I try to load custom ensembles.
A: Reaktor Player indeed stopped supporting customization of ensembles. More about it -
here.
Note for Mac OS X Lion + Ableton Live users: we've seen a bug (first reported here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=173&start=30 ) when enabling Track In in Live's MIDI preferences. Please disable Track In as a workaround. Remote In and the Control Surfaces can still be used as before.
Update: This bug appears to be fixed with Live 8.2.8, so if using 8.2.7 or earlier, please update your Live version.
